eCopy ShareScan Available for Integrated Konica Minolta MFPs

(Konica Minolta), a leading provider of advanced imaging and networking technologies for the desktop to the print shop, today announced the availability of eCopy ShareScan® for integrated Konica Minolta multifunctional printers (MFPs – print, copy, fax, scan all-in-one system) through Konica Minolta’s bizhub® Extended Solution Technology (bEST) Developer Support Program.  Launched earlier this year, the bEST program enables developers to adapt existing applications to Konica Minolta devices or use successful Konica Minolta technologies, such as bizhub Open API, to create innovative solutions to previously unresolved challenges.

The new document imaging software is available via the bEST program, and enables Konica Minolta’s customers to use eCopy ShareScan without any additional hardware at the Konica Minolta bizhub® MFP, providing lower total cost of ownership.  Customers now can access eCopy ShareScan directly from the bizhub MFP touch screen, providing businesses with greater workflow efficiency by converting paper documents into easily managed digital files.

The eCopy solution transforms full-color or black and white documents into electronic images that are easily shared and distributed for increased productivity.  In addition, the solution helps speed information exchange with its support of scan-to-Email, fax, folder, desktop or printer functions, and popular content management and collaboration software such as EMC Documentum and Microsoft SharePoint.

Konica Minolta Launches New 72mm-Wide Inkjet Print Head for Industrial Use, Reducing Energy Consumption by 50%

TOKYO--Konica Minolta IJ Technologies, Inc. today announced that it will introduce the industrial-use 72-mm wide KM1024 series inkjet print head with 1024 nozzles in mid-November 2009. Compared with conventional inkjet heads, it greatly reduces the energy consumption, thus making it an environmentally sound product.

The new KM1024 is a cutting-edge piezo on-demand print head developed by Konica Minolta to meet industrial needs for higher printing quality.
